What is a chimney chase cover?

The cover is formed to overhang the chase and to let the flue pipe pass through with a collar. When it rusts through, water runs into the frame and shows up as stained siding or a wet ceiling beside the chimney. The new cover is measured to that chase.

Siding damage from that water is chimney siding repair. A masonry crown on a brick chimney is a different part. That is crown repair.
