Service · A1 Chimney & Roofing
Carbon monoxide testing checks whether a fireplace or heating appliance is spilling carbon monoxide into the house. It is a test of that appliance and its vent. It is not a medical test, and it is not a promise about the whole house.

The work
Carbon monoxide is a gas you cannot see or smell. A blocked flue, a damaged liner, a bad heat exchanger, or a fireplace used with a poor draft can send it into a room. The test measures the air at the appliance while it runs and looks at the venting that should be carrying the exhaust out.
If anyone feels sick, dizzy, or has a headache, or if an alarm is sounding, get everyone outside and call emergency services before you call A1. Do not stay inside to troubleshoot.
Why it matters
A passed test on one day does not mean a damaged flue is fine forever. If the liner is cracked or the chimney is blocked, the repair still has to happen. The test tells you whether gas is spilling now.
A wood fireplace that smokes into the room needs the draft and the flue looked at, not only a meter reading.
What to expect
The appliance is run, the readings are explained in plain language, and any vent problem is named. The price of the test is given before it starts. If anyone is sick, leave first.
A1 Chimney & Roofing is a nationwide team with its own licensed and insured technicians in 27 states. The price is explained before any work starts. Homeowners have left 25,719 Google reviews with a 5.0 rating.
