What is chimney deep cleaning?

Ordinary soot and light, flaky creosote come off with a brush. Glazed creosote bakes onto the flue like tar. A brush polishes it. Deep cleaning uses the heavier methods made for that buildup and then removes the debris from the firebox and the base of the chimney.

If the tile under the creosote is cracked, cleaning does not fix the tile. That is flue repair. A normal-season sweep is chimney sweep.
