What is a flat roof system?

The membrane may be modified bitumen, a single-ply sheet, or a built-up roof. A repair welds or seals the failed seam, replaces a flashing at a wall, or fixes a drain that ponds. A coating is only an option when the membrane underneath is still sound. A roof that is cracked across the field is a replacement.
