The path is planned so the duct is as short and straight as the house allows, with an outside hood that can open. A plastic or foil transition hose that has collapsed is replaced. A vent that currently ends in an attic or a crawl space is rerouted outside. Lint cleaning, when the duct is fine and only dirty, is not this repair.
