Chimney Liner Installation

Chimney liner installation places a liner in a chimney whose own passage is cracked, unlined, or the wrong size for the appliance connected to it. The liner becomes the flue.

The work

What is chimney liner installation?

The chimney is inspected first. A liner is not pulled into a stack that is falling apart. When the masonry can carry it, the liner is sized to the appliance and run the length of the flue, with the top and the firebox ends finished so gases stay inside it.

A liner that is damaged but still the right one may be a liner repair instead. The visit distinguishes the two. A sweep does not line a chimney.

Why it matters

Why this work matters

The liner is what keeps smoke and heat out of the chimney walls and the rooms beside them. An open brick flue, or a tile liner with gaps, is the reason a new liner is considered.

If anyone feels sick while the appliance is running, get outside and call emergency services before calling A1.
